Design Your Home NZ

I’m the creator and sole author behind Design Your Home NZ Blog, a home design and renovation platform covering practical ideas, inspiration and trends for new builds, renovations and restyling projects.
I developed the site from my interest in marketing, design and consumer trends, alongside my own experience of designing and building a home. During the COVID lockdowns, I expanded my digital and web-tech capability and began building an online blog for the NZ community around the growing interest in home improvement on WordPress and social platforms.

Today, Design Your Home NZ combines content, digital publishing and community building, giving me first-hand insight into how people discover ideas, engage with content, share experiences and make decisions around their homes.

We're building an engaged home projects community in NZ

With almost 12,000 members, my NZ Home Projects Facebook community continues to grow, bringing together homeowners, renovators, DIY enthusiasts and tradespeople from across New Zealand.

The community was created as an extension of Design Your Home NZ — a place where people can share ideas, ask questions, seek advice and connect with others undertaking home projects, from small DIY jobs to major renovations. Tradespeople are also encouraged to contribute their knowledge and experience, creating opportunities for useful conversations and connections between homeowners and the trade community. Building and growing the group has given me valuable insight into what homeowners are talking about, the questions they are asking and the challenges they face — insights that also inform my wider understanding of the home and renovation market.
