Waikato Cherry Blossom Festival…

by Jules

Lovers of spring and blossoming cherry trees will love the annual Waikato Cherry Tree Festival. The Cherry blossom season is traditionally seen as a time to reflect not only on rebirth, but on the beauty that can be had in fleeting things.

At the Waikato Cherry Tree Festival 2020, Sat 19 Sep, Sun 20 Sep and Sat 26 Sep, 8am-6pm, revel in the magnificent blooms, multicultural music, dance, food and dress, high tea, food vendors, kids activities, beautiful gardens and people exuberant in dress and mood. Dress up for the occasion.

Paul Oulton planted the trees along his country driveway with the aim of “creating a beautiful aisle of trees, a plan which has taken a decade to come to fruition”.

Each day has a different theme featuring music, costume and culture of different nations as follows:
Sat 19 Sep – Japanese Sakura
Sun 20 Sep – Chinese Dragon
Sat 26 Sep – Kiwi Retro (olden days)
